Earthquakes vs QuicksilverEarthquakes vs Quicksilver: Derek Trevis (18) of Las Vegas and Leroy DeLeon of San Jose tussle for the ball while being watched by Wolgang Suhnholz.

LAS VEGAS-San Jose's offense took the night off as the Earthquakes got off just six shots in dropping a 2-0 North American Soccer League loss to the Quicksilvers last night.

Chris Dangerfield's goal at 33:51 of the first half was enough to send the Quakes down to their third setback in five outings. After a 70-minute delay in the second half due to a power failiure, the Quakes still couldn't dent Las Vegas' goal. Wolfgang Suhnholz scored the hosts' second goal at 76:25.

San Jose had several chances for first-half goals, but newly acquired forward Leroy Deleon's 25-yard shot bounced off the crossbar and Davie Kemp's 15-yard thrust was blocked by Quicksilver goalie Alan Mayer.

The Quakes return to action tomorrow night at Spartan Stadium against Vancouver, starting at 8 p.m.
