Trinidad and Tobago 1, Costa Rica 1: Philbert Jones scored with 21 minutes remaining last night to give Trinidad and Tobago a 1-1 tie with Costa Rica at Port of Spain, Trinidad, in a qualifying match for the 1990 World Cup. Costa Rica (2-2-1) leads the North and Central American and Caribbean qualifying group with 5 points. The United States (1-1-1) is second with 3 points. Trinidad (0-0-2) is tied for third with 2 points along with Guatemala, 1-1. El Salvador has yet to play. The top two countries qualify for the 24-team finals in Italy. In other games, Ireland beat Malta, 2-0, in Europe Group 6, and Japan and Indonesia played to a scoreless tie in Asia Group 6.(AP)
