A Caribbean football team will be making a tour of the People's Republic of China next year following a tour of the region by Chinese players the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) announced today.
The team for China will be chosen from players involved in a Nations Cup final by a committee comprising the coaches for the competing teams.
The Chinese will arrive in the Caribbean next month for a series of matches against national and regional squads between November 10 and December 6 in Barbados, Guyana, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
At an executive meeting of the CFU here yesterday members supported the establishment of a Caribbean Professional League for next year.
The committee also agreed to stage a juvenile tournament along similar lines as the Nations Cup between July and September next year.
