Trinidad Amateur Football Association 1944 season will get underway on Saturday, July 22, with a match in aid of the St. Joseph's Convent Relief Fund. It was decided at a Council meeting held on Friday night.

The opener will be played between the team that made a victorious tour of Barbados a month ago and a star-studded side call "The Rest."

Two teams that played first division soccer last year were relegated in the Second League. They are Constabulary and Preston.

The T.A.F.A. decided that with their plans for holding a triangular intercolonial series here it would be impossible to have a league programme with as many clubs as last season.

They have definitely made arrangements with Barbados to play here this year, while B.G. proposal is still under consideration.

The league will be played in the same "first five" system with a preliminary round.

Applications were made by five clubs, to play first class but none was admitted.
