PHILADELPHIA — Steve David scored with two minutes, 10 seconds left in the game last night to give the Miami Toros a 2-1 North American Soccer League victory over the Philadelphia Atoms before more than 14,000 fans at Veterans Stadium.

The win virtually knocked the Atoms, defending league champions, out of a playoff spot. Miami, which leads the East Division by eight points over the second-place Baltimore Comets, can wrap up a playoff spot next Friday night at the Orange Bowl when it plays the Dallas Tornado.
