Toros Win In Overtime

NEW YORK — The Miami Toros scored four goals in a tie-breaking period to defeat New York yesterday 2-1 in a North American Soccer League match.

Scoring penalty kicks for Miami in the extra period were Roberto Aguirre, Ronnie Sharp, Ken Mallender and Roger Verdi.

The Toros scored first in the first period when Steve David was assisted by Aguirre. New York tied it with four minutes remaining in the game, played in a heavy rain, when Joe Fink scored unassisted.

The victory gives the Toros a 1-1-1 record. New York is 0-2.
