Soccer star new coach at Bowie

BOWIE, Md.—Victor Gamaldo has been named soccer coach at Bowie State College. Gamaldo replaces Lincoln Phillips, former Washington Darts coach who has moved to Howard University as full time coach. Gamaldo is a member of the Washington Darts soccer club, where he has played defense for the past four years.

The 28-year-old star began his coaching stint in Trinidad with the Luton Club. He has played in two Olympics, the World Cup series and won a medal in the Pan-American games.
