BRIGHTON OUTCLASSED IN THE SEMI FINAL.
SHAMROCK WINS BY 3 GOALS TO NIL.

Brighton put up a poor game yesterday on the Casuals ground. They were beaten by 3 goals to nil by the Shamrock team and this result went ot show, not so much how well Shamrock played, but rather bow hopelessly out of it Brighton was. Their centre forward played well but did not receive support from the half backs who never seemed anxious to go for the net with the ball. The game, on the whole was dull and at times not interesting to watch although in the second half the game brightened up somewhat. The Shamrock men did not play up to their League form and there was really no necessity to display enterprising methods. The initial goal of the match was scored by P. Cumming mid-way in the opening half of the game. A corner was taken by Quesnel who dropped the ball accurately in the front of goal. Cumming rushed up and headed in before the goal keeper could realise what was happening. In the second half the Shamrock had things all their own way. The second goal was the result of a beautiful centre by Warner and gaining possession Cumming scored. The game had scarcely been in progress for 8 minutes after the kick-off when the same player again found the net, thus registering the third goal of the match in Shamrock's favour. Mr. Michael Cipriani performed the duties of referee whilst Messrs. Warner (?) acted as linesmen. Brighton never scored a single goal and never looked like scoring one.
