El Salvador gets ready to host the 1999 CONCACAF juniors tournament… and president Bill Clinton in February

Much is happening in San Salvador in February. El Salvador's capital city hosts the first part of the 1999 CONCACAF Juniors Tournament, February 10-14, and welcomes the President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton, February 10-13. As a result of Mr. Clinton's official visit, all major hotels are sold out for that period. Consequently, securing accommodations for teams and officials proved to be a greater challenge than originally anticipated.

But all is set for the tournament to start. Here are the groupings and calendar of matches.

Group B:
Cuscatlan Stadium, San Salvador, El Salvador, February 10 - 14M
February 10: Trinidad & Tobago vs. El Salvador (18:00); Mexico vs. Canada (20:00)
February 12: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Mexico (18:00); El Salvador vs. Canada (20:00)
February 14: Trinidad & Tobago vs. Canada (12:00 noon); Mexico vs. El Salvador (14:00)

Group A:
Jarrett Park, Montego Bay, February 24 - 28
February 24: Costa Rica vs. USA (17:00); Jamaica vs. Honduras (19:00)
February 26: Honduras vs. USA (17:00); Jamaica vs. Costa Rica (19:00)
February 28: Honduras vs. Costa Rica (13:00); Jamaica vs. USA (15:00)

Three teams, -Group winners plus best second-, will qualify for the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship in New Zealand, 10 - 27 November. Second place teams will play an elimination match to determine qualification.
