NEW YORK (UPI) — Warren Archibald, a 5-foot-6 wingman with the Miami Toros, was named the 1973 North American Soccer League's Most Valuable Player Tuesday.

Archibald, a seven-year veteran of NASL play, received 155 points in MVP balloting by league players and coaches, six more than Andy Provan of Philadelphia. Jim Fryatt of Philadelphia was third with 142. The 145-pound native of Trinidad, tied for the league lead in goals scored at 12 with Hija Mitic of Dallas.
