Jamaica advances to the 1998 CONCACAF U-20 qualifying tournament

Jamaica won the Caribbean U-20 qualifying tournament and has advanced to the 1998 CONCACAF U-20 Qualifying Tournament to be played in Guatemala on November 4, 6 and 8th. Group B participants: Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica and Panama or Honduras.

Panama and Honduras will play a home and away qualifying series September 23 in Honduras and September 27 in Panama.

The United States and Costa Rica have already qualified to the 1999 FIFA/Coca Cola World Youth Championship finishing in the top two spots of the four-team qualifying competition played in Trinidad & Tobago in August.

In total, four teams, -winner of Group A, winner of Group B and the runner-ups from each group,- will qualify for the 1999 FIFA/Coca Cola World Youth Championship in Nigeria, April 3rd to the 24th.

* November 4: Mexico vs. Jamaica (Coban Stadium, 3pm); Guatemala vs. Panama or Honduras (Mateo Flores Stadium, 8pm).
* November 6: Mexico vs. Panama or Honduras : (Coban Stadium, 3pm); Guatemala vs. Jamaica (Mateo Flores Stadium, 8pm).
* November 8: Panama or Honduras vs. Jamaica (Mateo Flores Stadium, 4pm); Guatemala vs. Mexico (Mateo Flores Stadium, 6pm).
