WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Darts won their first game of the season Sunday defeating the Montreal Olympics 2 to 0 in a North American Soccer League game.
The defending Southern Division champions, tied in their two previous games, capitalized on two first-half goals and a strong defense.
The Darts opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Flash Oliviera deflected a short shot past the fallen goalie.
Leroy DeLeon rammed in a hard shot from the penalty line for Washington 12 minutes later.
A slim turnout of 1,836 watched the game through a first-half downpour.
