CARACAS, Venezuela, Nov. 11, (Reuters):

Trinidad's National Football team showed fitness and speed but few soccer skills against Deportivo Italia, sports writers commented today after the local club defeated the Trinidad side 3-0 on Tuesday night.

"Once our boys overcame their fear of a National Team the match was theirs," the sports newspaper Meridiano commented today. "The visitors were nowhere as dangerous as we had thought."

The match was decided in the first half when Alcyr and Vicente scored for Italia in the 30th and 39th minutes.

The first goal came when Italia outside left Vasconcelos slipped Trinidad defender Spooner and passed accurately to Alcyr, who slammed the ball into the net on the volley. Then half back Rui hit the crossbar with a free kick from 25 metres out and Vicente, diving full length, headed the ball in from the rebound.

The third goal came in the 73rd minute when the ever-dangerous Vasconcelos dribbled his way through the Trinidad defence, then heeled the ball to Alcyr, who slammed it home on the run.

Italia's goalkeeper Fasano was rarely tested by the Trinidad forwards.
