
PHILADELPHIA (UPI)—The New York Generals rallied in the second half to beat the Philadelphia Spartans, 4-1, in a National Professional Soccer League game before 3,456 at Temple Stadium Wednesday night.
Philadelphia took a 1-0 lead after one minute and 53 seconds on a six-yard shot by Orlando Garro, center-forward from Argentina, his seventh goal of the season.
New York tied the score with 24:33 left on a 33-yard right footed kick by Warren Archibald into the right corner of the net. The ball traveled waist high and beat goalie Gernot Fraydl by a good margin.
In the second half, New York went ahead 2-1 with 21:20 to go on a 25-yard shot along the ground by Hester Manfredi. The Generals made it 3-1 when Phillipe Vorbee, a substitute, scored
from three yards with 8:30 left and a six-yard left-footed kick by Archibald made it 4-1.
