Kingston Lions, Jamaica's lone entry in the 1993 Caribbean Professional Football League (CPFL) and a beaten finalist in 1992, has dropped out of this year's competition after reaching the semi-final round.

According to a CANA report, President of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Austin "Jack" Warner said he was formally informed by the Lions of their inability to travel to Grenada for the four-team semi-final round, at the "scheduled time" because of a clash of dates.

Fifteen of the club's registered players have national commitments. Jamaica's national team, which is currently preparing for next month's Gold Cup in the United States and Mexico, will play Costa Rica here Sunday.
