SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, Dec. 18 (Reuter)

THE Costa Rica Football Association is not willing to change the dates for the matches to be played against Trinidad for the World Cup elimination round, it was announced last night.

The Association said the February fixtures, decided by the International Football Federation (F.I.F.A.) in Tokyo were "invariable."

Trinidad is running into difficulties in keeping to the scheduled dates because of the famous Carnival celebration during the same month.

A forfeit by Trinidad would mean Costa Rica would play Surinam in a two-match final for the Caribbean Area.
