Trinidadians open soccer tour today in Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, May 17:

THE FIFTEEN-MAN team of the South Trinidad Amateur Football Association were welcomed to Barbados at Sewell Airport by Mr. Christie Smith, secretary of the Barbados Amateur Football Association, shortly after they arrived this morning.

The team, accompanied by manager Hilton White and coach Claude Maurice, looked fit and happy. They presented a colourful appearance in their blue blazers and yellow ties.

They are lodged at the Y.M.C.A. Headquarters.

Several members of the Barbados team accompanied captain Winston Grant to the airport to greet the tourists.

The visitors were the guest of the Barbados Amateur Football Association at a cocktail party tonight.

The six-game series begin with a match against the Combined Schools tomorrow at Kensington Oval, and manager White said he expected the young team to give a commendable performance.
