For all athletes bemoaning suspensions, consider the case of Selwyn Baptiste.

Selwyn will have to live another 1,000 years to play soccer again.

Trinidad's Southern Amateur Football Assn. imposed a 1,000 year suspension—believed, with good reason, the longest in soccer history—because Baptiste played in a game Nov. 27 the day after he got a two-year suspension for violence.

He was captain of Sheffield football club.
