PORT OF SPAIN, Dec. 27:

ROAD accidents took six lives in South Trinidad over the Christmas Holidays.

Henry Bridgeman, captain of the island's outstanding football team, Trinidad Petroleum Development Football Club, was killed when the jitney in which he was travelling skidded. He was thrown out, and the vehicle then ran over him.

Bridgeman's oilfield team won the Football Association's trophy this season, and two other cups.
