On Sunday Maple 2nd Eleven met Dauntless in a friendly game of football played on the Arima Recreation Ground.

Dauntless gave a good account of themselves considering the fact that two of their full backs were absent. They were driven on the defensive from the beginning and their goalie, Barnwell, saved many a shot though he failed to stop all that were sent to him. Dauntless lost by a 2 to 1 goal margin.

The game started with Maple assuming the attack from the outset. After a few minutes' play the Mapleites drew first blood. Dauntless retaliated and Burnett, their left wing, secured the ball as a result of a scrimmage, and scored a beautiful goal. The whistle sounded for half time with scores level.

On the resumption of the game Kelvin Aleong, left wing, worked splendidly and the visitors' short passing and dribbling proved too subtle for the home team who experienced great difficulty.

Dauntless stuck to their task in commendable fashion, but Maple succeeded in scoring another goal.

The teams left the field with scores Maple 2 goals, Dauntless 1.
