FYZABAD, Aug. 21—S.A.F.L. scored a goal a minute before half-time and won their Hayward Shield inter-league fixture against the visiting East St. George combination by one goal to nothing at Apex today. Poonah Halls netted.

It was a poorly contested game.

The first exchanges were in favour of East, but it was S.A.F.L. who first got the ball into the nets, Dean netting from an offside position.

Almost simultaneously with the half-time whistle, S.A.F.L., however, scored when from a centre by Ivan de Gourville, Halls put the homesters into the lead with a good shot.

The second half was a most thrilling one, but the score was unchanged.

Teams were:

S.A.F.L.: Clarke; Parsons, Huggins; Charleau, Maruice, Phillips; Halls, Douglas, Dean, M. Baird, I. de Gourville.

East: M. Greenridge; Brown, Hoyte; Clarke, Sheppard, Lynch; Richards, Worrell, Pamphille, Marquis, L. Winn.
