SAN FERNANDO, Aug. 21—

Carlton edged out Parkites by the odd goal in three to head the S.A.F.A. first league table at the end of the preliminary round of matches at Skinner Park this afternoon.

A capacity crowd was entertained to some thrilling football, which was marred in the late stages by rough play, and referee George des Vignes ordered two players off the field.

Felix Turton, Carlton's centre forward, who was easily the worse offender, and Andrew Lamy, the Parkites goalkeeper, were the penalised players, being ordered off the field in the second session for ungentlemanly conduct.

This in a great way detracted from the keenness of the match, which was played at a fast rate.

Turton scored the first goal for the Carlton team which took the lead.

Parkites fought back and Ian Seale, who gave a grand performance, got the equaliser during
a scrimmage caused by a corner kick from Curvan shortly before the interval.

Cecil Thomson converted the "winner" for Carlton in the same session.
