The Long Island Hurricanes Soccer Club will compete in the International Indoor Soccer Tournament April 15-18 in Lake Placid. The semi-professional team was formed in February, said general manager-player Mansour Tabibnia. Tabibnia added that the team will be "a traveling team, which will play in national and international competitions." Top players on the team include player-coach Soheil Negahbani, formerly a player with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the now-defunct North American Soccer League, Garfield Cupid, formerly of the Trinidad National Team, Eddie St. Just, formerly of the Haitian National Team, and Ray Guerra, formerly of the Baltimore Blast of the now-defunct Major Indoor Soccer League.
