The Syracuse Scorpions, who like the Chiefs have been forced to find an alternate site for their home games, will introduce professional soccer to Liverpool Sunday when they take on the potent Washington Darts at Griffin Field. Game time is 3 p.m.

The Darts are the defending American Soccer League champions and have gotten off to a fast start this season, winning their first three encounters without having had so much as a goal scored against them.

Key man, of course, in this spectacular defensive record is player-couch Lincoln Phillips, who was the league's all-star goalie last season and has been in the nets for 270 scoreless minutes thus for this season.

The Darts have also come up with several new faces which have firmed up an already solid lineup this season, with Willie Evans, center halfback from the NASL champ Atlanta Chiefs, leading the way.

John Kerr, captain of the 1968 Canadian World Cup team and former star of the Detroit Cougars of the NASL, and Billy Fraser, who starred in Scotland and England, have also bolstered the Darts' lineup.

Washington is currently the only unbeaten, untied and unscored-upon team in the ASL, with eight goals of its own in the first three games.
