Football Federation

SOMEWHAT to my surprise I see that the Caribbean Football Federation proposed by Commander Hayward is not as I had thought a B.W I. body on the lines of the Cricket Board of Control, but is intended to include practically all the football playing countries of the Caribbean such as Puerto Rico, Dominica, Haiti and presumably Cuba.

To be quite candid I see no benefit at all for the British West Indian countries belonging to such a Federation, while on the other hand there would be considerable disadvantages to it.

There would be no possibility of playing together as an all Caribbean team even if that were desirable. The non-British countries play under different rules to ours, and we might find ourselves involved in exchanges with them which might prove undesirable. As regards a B.W.I. Football Federation, I am in favour of it.
