PORT OF SPAIN (CANA) — The Caribbean Professional League (CPFL), whose 1994 season ends tonight, will get a financial boost of up to US $1m for next year's tournament.

A release from the Caribbean Football Union office here said CONCACAF president Austin "Jack" Warner had held successful talks with a financial group based in the United States for the sponsorship of next year's tournament. The firm, Pan American Caribbean Financial Group Incorporated, through its investment bankers Kelley Pierre and Arthur Nurse, has agreed to sponsor the league to the tune of between US$500,000 and $1m.

The release said the sponsorship will be for an initial two-year period.
