SKIPPER of Caledonia AIA women's football team Ricarda Nelson did everything that was asked of her yesterday, with the exception of missing a penalty.

Nelson's failure to score with her spot kick proved fatal for Caledonia who went down 3-2 on penalties to league champions Petrotrin.

This was in the knockout final of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation competition on the University of the West Indies grounds, St Augustine.

The scores were locked 2-2 in kicks when Nelson calmly walked up to the ball and chipped softly for Petrotrin's goalkeeper Petula Bedeau to make the simplest of saves.

Before that she did yeoman service on the field when the teams walked off the field 3-3 after fulltime, netting a 40-yard free kick to put Caledonia back in the game 3-3 in the 59th minute.

Kathleen Hellaire (4th) and national hockey player Ori Trotman (33th) netted for Caledonia and Nerissa Gregory (30th and 40th) and Izler Brown (36th) for Petrotrin.
