Trinidad select Under-17s for CONCACAF tournament

PORT OF SPAIN (CANA) - A strong 18-man squad has been named to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) under-17 championships in El Salvador next month.

The team which will leave for the championships on October 31, will go into a 10-day camp here on Sunday.

Trinidad and Tobago are drawn in group C of the tournament alongside Costa Rica, USA and the Netherland Antilles. They will open their campaign on November 3 against Costa Rica.

The Trinidadians meet the United States on November 5 before completing their first round campaign two days later against the Netherlands.

Host country El Salvador heads group A which also includes Jamaica the other Caribbean qualifier, Canada and Nicaragua.

The team: Ron Alfred, Kenwyn Alexander, Alex Morgan, Marlon Rojas, Dwight Deleon, Darin Granger, Augustus Pope, Lorne Joseph, Travis Sobers, Andre Cooper, Addae Rique, Vijay Samaroo, Brent Rahim, Aaron Catlyn, Adrian Perez, Rudolph Rudder, Leslie Fitzpatrick and Kevin Nelson.
