Having thrown his football boots into the corner since he returned from British Guiana, where the Trinidad side took part in the triangle inter-colonial tournament, Ahamad Charles is back once more on the cycle track, no doubt preparing for the invasion of Lance Hayles and R. Robb Jamaica.

The first meeting in which he rode was in the two-day Siparia Sports held on Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1. Still Trinidad champion, he was beaten by Laudrie Nottingham, another top notcher of the colony, in the 3 mile championship on the first day, but came back to win the five mile, in which Nottingham was not even placed.

On the second day he completed his triumph by carrying off the nine mile, having the satisfaction of whipping his rival, who ran second to him.

Another rider well known out here who took part in the meeting was Victor Chung, one of the best cyclists seen in the West Indies in recent years. He has been trying to start a comeback since this year, and in earlier meetings gave evidence that he still has his old touch.
