On the Clydesdale grounds yesterday afternoon, the fourth practice match was played off between the following teams, in the presence of a large crowd of onlookers, several ladies being again in evidence. The teams doing battle were, "Reds"—C. Sandella (goal), F. Brierly, G. Owen (backs), Adamson, H. Hoadley, R. Swan (half backs), C. Logie, Dewhurst, Rooks, Mole, Ironside (forwards). "Stripes"—G. Gibbon (goal), Anderson, N. Lord (backs), F. Legge, W[illegible], G. Rochford (half backs), G. P[illegible], J. Rochford, J. Bullock, Eccles, Newbury (forwards).

The players, with few exceptions, showed a deal of improvement on previous weeks' practices, being strong at the [illegible] of the game. Rochford was responsible for no less than two goals, and Newbury one for their side. At one time Bullock looked rather dangerous; for by a brilliant shot, he send the ball flying in the direction of the goal, but it was by coming in contact with the goal post and rebounding that Scandella's defence escaped being broken into. N. Lord at back if he doesn't relax in his practice, will make a good selection for the team contest against the Club in the Magnificent Province. "Reds" managed only to secure one goal against their opponents 3 and that was cleanly shot by Logie.
