PHILHARMONIC vs LA PIQUE

The football match mentioned above was played at Paradise ground, San Fernando, on Monday afternoon before a goodly gathering. Mr. R. A. Torrence was the referee. The game brought to mind, Aesop's fable of the mountain in labour giving birth to a mouse; for although a good deal of fast running up and down was witnessed during its course, rare indeed were the occasions when glimpses of good footballing could be obtained. Two goals apiece were obtained during the first half of play, the second half proving resultless. Philharmonic 2, La Pique 2.
