ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) - Everald Cummings, a little-used reserve for the past two seasons, made his 1969 Atlanta debut a spectacular one Sunday as he led the Atlanta Chiefs to a 4-2 victory over Baltimore in the North American Soccer League opener here.

Cummings, a 20-year-old from Trinidad, didn't enter the game until 15 minutes were gone in the second half, but he promptly made his presence felt.

One minute after he came in, Cummings converted a perfect pass from Boy-Boy Motaung to put the Chiefs on top for good.

Later on in the half, Cummings twice fired hard shots at Baltimore goal keeper Mario Jelencovich and both times the shots came off at the feet of teammates. Motaung converted one for a goal and Mike Ash scored the other.

Motaung also got the first goal for the Chiefs when he slapped home another rebound after a shot by Emmet Kapengwe.
