UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —
(INS) — Chyzowych, Torgersen, Stollmeyer and Rafelghem sounds like a Notre Dame back field but its part of the Penn State soccer team roster.
They are four of the foreign-born members of the squad who have won the praises of Coach Ken Hosterman.
"They are better equipped in most fundamentals of soccer because they grew up playing the game as our boys grow up playing baseball and football," says Hosterman.
Per Torgerson, of Norway, and Mike Stollmeyer, of the British West Indies, were standouts with the squad last year while Ihor Chyzowych, of the Ukraine, and Lou Van Rafelghem, of Buenos Aires, are in their first year of play with the Nittany Lion booters.
