PORT OF SPAIN, July 13:

MAPLE WON the coveted Bonanza first class cricket Cup, after 16 years, when they defeated their redoubtable rivals, Shannon, by 290 runs in a match ending at historic Queen's Park Oval on Saturday afternoon.

The Mapelites thus carried their dominance of the soccer sphere, where they won the prized Trinidad Amateur Football Association's First Division Shield, and the B.D.V. Cup the last two seasons, right into the cricket arena.
