SAINT AUSTELL, Cornwall, Sept. 26 (Reuter):—
A HAT-TRICK by Carlton Hinds, two goals by Paul Carr and another by Matthew Nunes, enabled the Trinidad touring soccer team to beat a Cornwall County Football Association side by six goals to three here today.
The Trinidad team, who were leading by four goals to one at halftime, thoroughly deserved their victory.
The tourists dominated the opening stages with their clever pattern weaving and Carr soon got them ahead. It was not long before they became two up, Hinds netting, following a free kick.
Cornwall did improve slightly and Glennon reduced the arrears before a defensive lapse gave Trinidad their third goal through Nunes.
Before the interval Hinds scored number four.
In an effort to improve their combination, Cornwall twitched their forward line in the second half, but they were still unable to make any impression against the quick-tackling Trinidad defence.
Cornwall were awarded a penalty, but Glennon struck an upright before Carr added the visitors' fifth goal. Then came a surprise 40-yard drive by Hasty which gave Cornwall their second goal and the same player scored again for Cornwall from the best move of the match a few minutes later.
Though they had had their lead reduced to two goals, the Trinidad team did not appear at all worried and Hinds completed his hat-trick before the end.
