BRISTOL, Aug. 31 (Reuter):
BRISTOL ROVERS defeated the Trinidad footballers here today 4-1 after being level 1-1 at half time.
The home side did not field their strongest team—they were promoted from third to second division of English league last season—but had four of their regular players in action and were always too clever for the visitors.
Nevertheless Trinidad, a goal behind in three minutes when Lyons scored—fought back well and were on terms quarter of an hour later when Carr, forceful and speedy leader of their attack netted.
A penalty by Bush early in the second half restored the lead to Bristol who with Trinidad tiring increased their advantage with further goals from Bush and Lyons.
Nunes at inside left, was a good schemer for Trinidad and worked some good openings but the Bristol defence was generally very alert.
