Steve David, the North American Soccer League's leading scorer, has been lost to the Los Angeles Aztecs for the remainder of the season. David, a forward from Trinidad who won the scoring title in 1975, suffered torn ligaments in his right knee during the Aztecs' loss to San Jose Saturday. David has 58 points, far ahead of NASL runner-up Derek Smethurst of Tampa Bay who has 42.
