Legendary local footballers like Everald "Gally" Cummings and Ulric "Buggy" Haynes will be among several former star players on hand as the Veteran Footballers Foundation (VFF), in conjunction with the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SPORTT) and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, host the 100th anniversary of football in T&T on Sunday November 30.

The event will take the form of a Football Centennial Brunch at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Wrightson Road and will see the participation of 91-year-old Will Payne, 89-year-old Andy Ganteaume, Ivan Moore and Tim Joseph.

Len Leggard, Carlton "Squeakie" Hinds, Shay Seymour and Carlton "The General" Franco will also attend, as will Kelvin Berassa, Malcolm "Fowl" McLean, Richard Nieves, Ken Hodge and Son Baptiste.

Among the younger veterans, Leroy De Leon, Andy Aleong, WIlfred "Bound to Score" Cave and Clayton Morris of "Strike Squad" fame are also invited and expected to be present.

Other veterans interested in being part of the celebration brunch are asked to contact Tansley Thompson at 727-4582 or 628-6752.

In other news, the VFF sent condolences to former Trinidad and Tobago and Maple captain Sedley Joseph and his family on the passing of his brother Allen, also a national footballer.

"We are deeply saddened that he will not be here to celebrate with us," said a VFF official.
