HOW GOOD IS TRINIDAD:

Interesting article on Trinidad's football side in Thursday's paper, from which we gather that they think their team is not quite as good as that which defeated Jamaica in 1935.

If it isn't Trinidad may make up their minds to take a licking in February; for the Jamaica team with the material it now has, with material we may hope to develop as the season progresses, above all with the intensive training and coaching the JFA is going in for this season, will be decidedly better than 1935.

But is the Trinidad team worse? Personally I should be inclined to take this with a grain of salt; when you look at the number of players whom the writer discusses as eligible for selection, and compare this with the very few first class players Jamaica can mention, it would be surprising if they cannot pick a really good side out of so much material.
