TRINIDAD TEAM AT DEMERARA

A football team selected from members of the Clydesdale Football Club recently left Trinidad for Demerara where they have been trying conclusions with different teams. The Trinidad team consisted of Messrs. T. Jackson, (goal) E. Pitts (Captain), and Mr. Blackett (backs), J. Hoadley, R. Torrence and J. Cullen (half backs), A. K. Tyrie, J. Pendrich, H. Knox, R. Johnstone and A. S. Blair (forwards). Reserves:—J. Rochford, W. Wood, G. Brierly and F. Brierly.

The opening match at Demerara was played against the Georgetown Football Club, at Bourda. The match resulted in a victory for Trinidad team by three goals to one. Knox and Hoadly of the visitors, and Davies for the home team played admirably.

The second match was played between the Trinidad team and Messrs. Booker Bro.'s employees, and ended in a draw, two goals to two.

The third match was between the visitors and a team representing the Artillery Sports Club. The game was won by the Trinidad team by three goals to nil.

The fourth match was played on the 17th instant and was between teams representing Trinidad and British Guiana. The match resulted in a win for the home team by one goal to nil. Both sides played excellently.

The Trinidad football team have also played a cricket match against a team from the Georgetown C. C., the latter winning easily.
